Program Overview

Graduates of the Civil Engineering Technology program are prepared to support various areas of civil engineering, such as construction, water resources, public works, structural detailing and design, environmental evaluation, and energy development. In addition to engineering fundamentals, the program includes coursework in surveying, AutoCAD, building information modeling (BIM), construction materials, financial accounting, and business law. Courses in the Civil Engineering Technology program are aligned with lower division requirements for Bachelor of Science in Construction Management programs at the following California State University campuses: Fresno, Northridge, Long Beach, East Bay, Sacramento, Chico, and San Diego. Additional opportunities for transfer may be available through the Western Undergraduate Exchange. Students interested in transferring should contact a counselor or educational advisor. Upon completion of graduation requirements and the required degree courses with at least a “C” or “P” grade in each course, the student will be eligible for an Associate of Science degree.
