Program Overview
The Fire Technology Associates of Arts Degree is designed to meet the educational requirements established by the Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education (FESHE) organization for an Associates of Arts degree. The program will also prepare students for the national registry exam and certification as a California State Emergency Medical Technician. This degree program of study was developed to assist students who desire to become a firefighter or desire Fire Technology as a career. This degree will aid existing firefighters in promoting/advancing through the ranks of engineer, captain, battalion chief, etc. After successful completion of this degree, students will be authorized to take the National Registry EMT examination. To Achieve the Associate of Arts: Upon completion of graduation requirements and the required degree courses with at least a “C” or “P” (pass) grade in each course, the student will be awarded an Associate of Arts degree.
