Program Entrance Requirements: Students must be graduates from Marion Technical College, Erwin Technical Center (College), Sheridan Technical College or a similar Medical Laboratory Technology program with an Advanced Technology Diploma (ATD). Program Description: The Medical Technology Associate of Science degree program was developed specifically to enable Medical Laboratory Technician Certificate/Advanced Technology Diploma (ATD) graduates to continue their education and qualify for higher level positions in the clinical laboratory field or higher degrees such as the bachelor’s degree. AS program graduates will be able to work with less direct supervision and perform more difficult procedures than would be expected of an ATD graduate. They will be eligible to take state and national certifying exams that require education above the ATD level.
