Program Overview

This program is designed to prepare students for employment in the nuclear energy service industry by providing in-class and practical hands-on training in basic maintenance, electricity, engineering, programming, and related skills to a variety of areas such as machining, welding, quality control and mechatronics. This program is G3 Eligible. Individuals are eligible for admission to CVCC if they are high school graduates or the equivalent, or if they are eighteen years of age or older and able to benefit academically from study at the community college, as demonstrated by assessment in reading, writing, and mathematics. Note: Program enrollees will be considered for an interview with Framatome for acceptance in the Nuclear Technology Academy which includes full time employment and benefits while completing the degree program. All students expected to complete the requirements for a degree, diploma, certificate, or career studies certificate must complete an Application for Graduation.
