Program Overview

This certificate program is designed to teach the student to perform the fundamental skills of the nurse assistant. Basic nursing skills, restorative services, personal care skills, safety and emergency care issues will be covered in the theory and lab. Students will have the opportunity to practice these skills in a work environment through clinical coursework. The student will also assist patients to meet emotional needs and to ensure patient rights. This program will prepare the graduate for the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program for State Certification.

Please Note: This Program is Not Eligible for Financial Aid.

Program Admission Requirements

• College readiness in English
• Physician clearance letter
• National Criminal Background Check with no CCCS Disqualifying Offenses
• 10 Panel Negative Drug Screen, including THC (Marijuana)
• Negative Tuberculosis Test
• Required Vaccinations
• 2 MMR vaccines and/or positive titers
• 2 Varicella vaccines, positive titers, and/or documented history of the disease
• 3 Hepatitis B vaccines and/or positive titers
• Tdap Vaccine (within the last 10 years)
• Seasonal Flu Vaccine (Fall/Spring)
• Up to Date COVID-19 Vaccine
