Program Overview

This certificate program prepares a student to become certified as an advanced CADD operator. Coursework includes the creation of 2D and 3D CADD drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other modeling software in support of industry trends and technology advancements. In addition, the student would be capable of customizing the CAD software program, with additional skills in solid modeling and specific areas of CADD. Courses that complete this certificate also complete the Mechanical Drafting Occupational Skills Award (MOS) and Mechanical Drafting Certificate (MD).

Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.

* Technical Elective must be selected from the following: DFTG 1329, DFTG 1333 (required for the Mechanical Drafting Occupational Skills Award), DFTG 1358, DFTG 1395, DFTG 2323.
