Esthetics and Make-Up, 735 clock hours. The Esthetics and Make Up Program is designed to train the student to analyze, cleanse, treat and correct skin conditions and irregularities through the appropriate use of cosmetics and modern methods to stimulate circulation. The student can work at the beginner level as an esthetician, cosmetics salesperson, makeup artist or salon manager.
Program length. The program has 735 hours of instruction and 167 hours of work outside the classroom or salon, and consists of 29 credits over about 30 weeks.

- Two campuses. Programs run at the Barranquitas main campus and the Vega Alta branch campus, except Automotive Mechanics, which is offered in Barranquitas.
- Day or night. Classes run in six-hour periods, Monday to Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or from 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
- Placement Office. Graduates get help with resumes, interview preparation, employer referrals and the requirements for professional licensure examinations.
Admission Requirements and Process
Admission requirements. Applicants must be sixteen (16) years old or older (health programs: seventeen, and eighteen by the start of the practice), have completed 12th grade or its equivalent, provide a copy of the high school diploma, official transcript or graduation certification, submit an updated vaccination certificate (PVAC-3) if under 21, pay the $25.00 admission fee, and provide acceptable documentation to verify their identity. Educational evidence from another country must be validated by the Puerto Rico Department of Education.
Admission procedure. Applicants meet with the admissions staff, who determine whether the program matches the applicant's interest; qualifying applicants complete the admission application with the required documents.

Class schedule. Daytime periods run Monday to Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; night periods Monday to Thursday, 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The institution is open Monday to Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Semesters. The academic year consists of semesters of approximately thirteen (13) to sixteen (16) weeks, depending on the program of study.
Upcoming dates. The 2026 academic calendar lists enrollment for October on October 13, 2026, an academic recess from December 18 to 31, 2026, and the beginning of classes on January 7, 2027, with enrollment for January on January 13, 2027. The calendar is subject to change.
Curriculum
12 courses, 29 credits. The catalog's course table lists theory, laboratory and internship hours for every course, shown below, adding up to 735 hours of instruction.
Grading and graduation. Grades run A (100%-90%), B (89%-80%), C (79%-70%), D (69%-60%) and F (59%-0%). To graduate, a student passes all classes in the program with a minimum overall GPA of 2.00 on a 4.00 scale, and receives a diploma.

Financial aid. Programs available to students who qualify include the Federal Pell Grant, the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), Federal Work and Study (FWS), Vocational Rehabilitation, and the Supplemental Educational Aid of the Puerto Rico Board of Education. Aid is based on demonstrated need; applicants submit evidence of income for the last two tax years.
Payment plans. The Treasury Office sets a payment plan without interest; a $50.00 fee is charged for completing the payment plan, and a $6.00 late payment charge applies. Payment methods are ATH Móvil, ATH, certified checks, money orders and Visa or MasterCard.
Refunds. The refund percentage is based on the last day of attendance within the payment period: a student who has attended 60% or less receives the corresponding prorated refund, and no refund is issued above 60%. An administrative withdrawal fee of up to 5% of the total cost or $100, whichever is less, applies, and refunds due to the student are issued within 14 calendar days of the determination date.
Career Outcomes
Careers. The student can work at the beginner level as an esthetician, cosmetics salesperson, makeup artist or salon manager.
Placement Office. The Placement Office helps graduating candidates and graduates with job search skills, resume and interview preparation, employer contacts and referrals, and guidance on the requirements and procedures for professional licensure examinations.
Diploma. Any student who successfully completes the graduation requirements receives a diploma; documents are issued once any financial debt with the Institution is paid.
