Program Overview

Dunwoody’s Electrical Construction Design & Management program provides you with the skills and knowledge necessary to create estimates, develop schedules, and effectively design and manage complex electrical construction projects from start to finish.

Learn from industry speakers who provide unique insight in new and evolving technology, collaborate with others to complete real-world projects, and participate in national competitions that introduce you to a variety of uses and solutions for electrical design.

The program integrates all aspects of electrical drafting, designing, estimating, and managing. Presentations to industry experts and leaders help you to better learn industry standards and best practices from those in your field.

Software you will use includes a suite of programs you will find out in industry, including AutoCAD, Revit, Accubid, Microsoft Suite, Visual 3D, and Navisworks.

Extensive study of the National Electrical Code (NEC)—set forth by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)—will guide you on how to design electrical systems that are safe, reliable, and code compliant.

An OSHA 10 Construction Card is offered to students who successfully complete the required 10 hours of training. This card is widely accepted by most electrical contractors in the US.

Because of the high demand for graduates in this field, most students interested in working in their field of study during college receive employment opportunities from electrical design firms or electrical contractors during their second year of the program.

Bachelor’s Completion Options: Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Bachelor of Science in Power & Construction Engineering Technology, Bachelor of Science in Business Management & Leadership
