Exploring Your Financial Aid Options

Federal Student Loans

Students may qualify for low-interest Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans through the U.S. Department of Education. These loans offer flexible repayment terms after graduation.

Scholarships

The school offers limited tuition scholarships to qualified applicants. To be considered, students must complete a scholarship application and provide any additional documentation requested. Scholarships from the school may cover full or partial tuition and are awarded based on financial need, academic potential, personal motivation, and interview performance. All students who enroll during the scholarship period are eligible to apply.

In addition to our scholarship, we encourage you to explore other private scholarship options, including:

  • Minerva Beauty Cosmetology Scholarship
  • NIC (Aurie J. Gosnell Scholarship)
  • Beauty Changes Lives

We Offer Interest-Free Payment Plans

Many students will find that even with federal financial aid and private scholarships, they may still need to cover part of their beauty education costs out of their own pocket. Ea La Mar’s Cosmetology & Barber College offers interest-free monthly installment plans to help students pay their remaining tuition balance. This allows you to spread the cost of your tuition over your enrollment period without incurring interest charges.

Our payment plans:

  • Are due on the second Tuesday of each month after your class start date.
  • Must be approved by the school before you enroll.
  • Incur a $10 per day late fee on missed payments.

Financial Aid Options at Ea La Mar’s

Financial aid is available to those who qualify and is available for our full-length courses, including Basic Cosmetology and Barber Hairstyling. Short-term courses like the Crossover Barber program are not eligible for federal financial aid, but other options, such as payment plans, may be available. Our admissions team can help you understand which programs are eligible and guide you through the application process.

This is very common, so don’t worry if your federal aid doesn’t cover the entire cost of your tuition. You may still be able to explore private scholarship and private loan options. We also offer interest-free monthly installment plans to help bridge the gap. Our financial aid team can help you explore all of your options.

When completing the FAFSA, be sure to enter our school code: 042474. This ensures your application is sent directly to Ea La Mar’s Cosmetology & Barber College for review.

If you are considered a dependent student by federal guidelines, then yes, you’ll need your parents’ income and tax information. If you are an independent student (based on age, marital status, and other factors), you can submit your own financial details. The FAFSA website provides a checklist to help you determine if you are a dependent student or not.

You don’t have to, but you should because you can do it for free! Even if you don’t think you’ll be eligible for federal financial aid, it’s a good idea to fill out the FAFSA. It’s free to apply and opens the door to multiple funding options to make your beauty education more affordable. There is nothing to lose and potential valuable funding to gain. If you are concerned about filling out the FAFSA, talk to our financial aid team.
