Program Overview
East Ohio College School of Nursing offers an online, hybrid Nursing program available to students in East Liverpool, OH, Youngstown, OH, and surrounding areas. The program allows students to complete the didactic components of their nursing classes online; labs are held on the East Ohio College campus, and clinical instruction is primarily conducted at regional healthcare facilities.
The objective of the Nursing program is to prepare the graduate to function as a member of the health care team within the scope and practice of the Registered Nurse as defined by the Ohio State Nurse Practice Act. Students will utilize the nursing process in assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of persons, families, and communities in a diversity of health care environments. Nursing courses are taken sequentially as defined by the East Ohio College Nursing Program Student Handbook. An NCLEX-RN review course is required after completion of all course work and prior to graduation.

What sets this Program apart
Direct admission. ATI adaptive learning. East Ohio College School of Nursing programs utilize the Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) adaptive learning system, designed to help nursing students effectively absorb course material and increase their likelihood of success.
Core nursing skills. Throughout the program, students gain procedural and emergency care skills (Foley catheterization, nasogastric tube, IV insertion, medication administration, advanced cardiac life support, trauma care), critical thinking and problem-solving skills, interprofessional and interpersonal skills, and technology skills such as electronic health record systems, patient monitoring devices and clinical decision support systems.
