Program overview

Electronics Engineering Technicians install, maintain and repair electrical and electronic equipment. They also assist in the development, testing, production, and quality assurance of equipment and components such as: circuit boards, wireless phones, PDAs, medical equipment, and control systems. Skills in the Mechatronics field can be applied in various areas including maintenance and repair, installation, quality assurance, and research and development. Students in the Electronics Engineering Technology concentration learn about subjects such as fiber optics, analog and digital electronics, control systems, and network technologies. They are able to use test equipment to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electronic systems, as well as computer and network technologies. The Electronics Engineering curriculum provides the education and foundation needed for employment in a variety of related industries in both the private and public sector including: automation and manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, and computer industries.
