Healthcare Administration (BS)

The Bachelor of Science in Health Science-Healthcare Administration program teaches students how to become entry-level managers in many different kinds of healthcare settings. Students learn the fundamental areas of healthcare administration including finance, accounting, management, technology, community health, healthcare research, long-term care administration, global health, managed care, and healthcare delivery systems. Graduates will serve as business advocates in the global healthcare workplace. The business of healthcare needs well-educated caring professionals to manage: Medical Units Long-term Care Centers Hospital Departments Community Health and Physician Office Practices Medical and health services managers plan, direct, coordinate, and supervise the delivery of healthcare. These workers are either specialists in charge of a specific clinical department or generalists who manage an entire facility or system. This program offers the following two tracks: Track description Acute Care Track The Acute Care Track is designed to provide students with real-world experience and an in-depth understanding of public health and healthcare administration within acute care settings. This track prepares students to effectively manage operations in fast-paced, high-pressure acute care environments. Long-Term Care Track The Long Term Care Track focuses on preparing students to manage and lead long-term care facilities, with a curriculum that includes a balance of practical experience and theoretical learning. This track equips students with the knowledge and skills to excel in the growing field of long-term care administration.
