Career Outcomes
Licensed estheticians work in salons, spas and medical spas as estheticians, skin care specialists and makeup artists, in cosmetic sales and buying, and alongside dermatologists; the school’s disclosures also list skin care therapist, facialist and medical esthetician.
The school provides placement assistance to every graduate at no extra charge, posting openings on a student bulletin board and inviting salon owners and employers to speak to senior students, but it does not guarantee employment. Graduates cannot practice a licensed occupation until they pass the state licensing examination.
What to expect as a Elite School of Cosmetology student
The Ohio campuses share one catalog and ownership; any difference is identified by campus. Instructors keep a daily attendance log, and each day combines a theory class, practical demonstrations and practical work under strict instructor supervision. Individual advising on academic, personal and career concerns is available from staff, with referral to outside professionals when needed.
The website lists the Norwalk campus at 230 Milan Avenue, Suite B, on its campus, contact and disclosure pages; the catalog still lists 175 Benedict Avenue, so confirm the address before visiting.
Attendance and progress. Students must attend at least 66.67 percent of scheduled hours, keep a written grade average of at least 75 percent, pass a final written exam and complete the required practical work under instructor supervision. Up to 10 percent of the clock hours in each payment period may be excused. Students who reach the maximum time frame, 150 percent of the program, without finishing may continue on a cash-pay basis. A $100 administrative fee is charged when a student withdraws, and a $125 reinstatement fee applies on readmission.
Calendar. The Ohio campuses close for Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and the day after, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, and follow the Huron County (Norwalk) and Ashland County (Ashland) school boards for weather closures.
