Advanced Cosmetology is a Diploma program offered by Elite School of Cosmetology in Norwalk, OH. The program takes About 60 weeks full time (1,800 clock hours) to complete, with a total tuition of $25,750.
Program Overview
The Advanced Cosmetology program at Elite School of Cosmetology is 1,800 clock hours: 1,500 core hours plus 300 advanced hours that prepare students for the Ohio state licensing examination as advanced cosmetologists. It builds a foundation in professional development, anatomy, physiology, electricity, chemistry and the salon business, and trains the full range of hair services, from design decisions, cuts and styles to wigs, extensions, chemical texture and hair color, along with manicures, pedicures, skin care, hair removal and makeup.
The advanced hours add health and public safety, Ohio laws and rules, and advanced techniques in hair anatomy, communication, sales and training, salon supervision and management. Graduates receive a diploma and are helped to register for the state exam; they cannot practice until they pass it.
Elite School of Cosmetology, which now presents itself as Elite Schools, is owned and operated by J.T. Tony’s, LLC, an Ohio company, and runs four campuses: Panama City and Niceville in Florida, and Norwalk and Ashland in Ohio. Its mission is to educate, train and prepare students to pass the required state board examinations and to excel in vocational careers that lead to gainful employment. All four campuses share one federal school code, 041859.

Paying. A down payment is due when the enrollment agreement is signed, with the balance paid by payment plan before graduation, by cash, credit or debit card, check, cashier’s check or U.S. money order. Licensing, criminal background check and exam fees are not part of the program cost, and students who run past their contract end date pay an hourly charge for the extra hours.
Cancellation and refunds. The Ohio catalog’s refund table sets the share of tuition owed by the portion of the program scheduled: 20 percent under 5 percent, then 30, 40 and 45 percent up to 24.9 percent, 70 percent from 25 to 49.9 percent, and all of it from 50 percent on. Books, kits and the registration fee sit outside that calculation, and the kit and books are refundable only if returned unused before the first day. Refunds are paid within 45 days.

Career Outcomes
Licensed advanced cosmetologists work as hair stylists and salon managers, among other roles; the school’s disclosures list hairdressers, hairstylists and cosmetologists as the related occupations.
The school provides placement assistance to every graduate at no extra charge, posting openings on a student bulletin board and inviting salon owners and employers to speak to senior students, but it does not guarantee employment. Graduates cannot practice a licensed occupation until they pass the state licensing examination.
What to expect as a Elite School of Cosmetology student
The Ohio campuses share one catalog and ownership; any difference is identified by campus. Instructors keep a daily attendance log, and each day combines a theory class, practical demonstrations and practical work under strict instructor supervision. Individual advising on academic, personal and career concerns is available from staff, with referral to outside professionals when needed.
The website lists the Norwalk campus at 230 Milan Avenue, Suite B, on its campus, contact and disclosure pages; the catalog still lists 175 Benedict Avenue, so confirm the address before visiting.
Attendance and progress. Students must attend at least 66.67 percent of scheduled hours, keep a written grade average of at least 75 percent, pass a final written exam and complete the required practical work under instructor supervision. Up to 10 percent of the clock hours in each payment period may be excused. Students who reach the maximum time frame, 150 percent of the program, without finishing may continue on a cash-pay basis. A $100 administrative fee is charged when a student withdraws, and a $125 reinstatement fee applies on readmission.
Calendar. The Ohio campuses close for Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and the day after, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, and follow the Huron County (Norwalk) and Ashland County (Ashland) school boards for weather closures.
