Program Overview
This full time associate degree program provides hands on training in Auto Collision Repair & Refinishing. Students learn damage analysis, non structural and structural repair, welding, refinishing, and the removal and installation of vehicle components, while requiring only 20–24 hours per week of on campus attendance. Students will practice the repair and replacement of steel, aluminum, plastic, and composite panels, straighten structural damage, prepare surfaces, and apply modern paint systems using industry standard tools and processes. While this program focuses on collision and refinish work, many of the precision and paint related skills students develop can be used in specialty shops, including restoration facilities. Graduates are prepared for a range of entry level positions such as collision repair technician, refinish technician, damage estimator, parts specialist, insurance appraiser trainee, automotive manufacturing technician, shop manager, future shop owner, and will be well prepared to pursue ASE certification.
