Mission/Purpose Statement: The purpose of the Robotics Technology certification program is to give students an introduction to the programming and hands on operating of a robotic system while exposing them to several critical facets of the robotics field so as to prepare students for entry level work for companies that use robots as part of their manufacturing process and/or directly for the robotics industry.
Goals: - Students learn the procedures for and demonstrate how to select, start up and safely operate a robot to complete a series of tasks that mimic typical industrial processes using tools that are found in industry. - Students learn the procedures for and demonstrate how to master, calibrate tools/bases, jog, and program a robot to complete a series of tasks that both mimic typical industrial processes with a representative set of tools that are used to complete them. - Students complete the required labs. learn the fundamental robotics concepts and pass the robot operator's certification test that is recognized within the robotics field.
