Web Application Design and Development is a Diploma program (Hybrid) offered by Hunter Business School in Medford, NY. The program takes 30 weeks (day) to complete, with a total tuition of $15,907.
Program Overview
The program includes 720 hours of instructor-led online classes plus a 180-hour in-person externship.
Through instructor-led online classes and project-based assignments, starting with web design and client-side programming, you’ll learn programming languages like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP, plus web frameworks and UX/UI design principles used across today’s tech-driven job market. Generative A.I. tools and low-coding platforms like WordPress are included in the coursework. The program then gradually advances to object-oriented programming with Python, back-end applications, and database design with SQL.
Through a series of hands-on projects, Hunter students not only cultivate an understanding of computer programming concepts, but also learn to work in a team environment, practice software development methodology skills and prepare a sizable portfolio for their new career. The assignments focus on solving common challenges of today's IT industry, thus preparing students for a successful career in the field of Information Technology.
Students who successfully complete courses OWA110 through OWA230 will then complete a 180-hour in-person Externship (WA240) in order to graduate from the program. Externship hosts have included Hozio, Inc., Cybernet LLC, Command Direct, Suffolk County Webmasters, Efferent Media, Inc., AdVice Media Marketing, The Ergonomic Group and Atlas Cybersecurity.
