Cybersecurity

The Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity totals 126 credit hours across 40+ courses, with an estimated completion time of about 42 months. Students take one class at a time in focused four-week terms, with new classes beginning every month.

The program is offered online, on campus, and in a hybrid format at select Florida locations, with day, evening, and online options at participating campuses. The curriculum is structured as lower-division general education and major coursework, upper-division major coursework, and a 15-credit concentration in either Information Assurance or Digital Defense. Lower-division courses must be completed before upper-division major courses.

The curriculum combines lower- and upper-division major coursework, general education, and a chosen concentration, covering network and cloud security, operating systems, data management, cyber laws and frameworks, risk identification, protection, detection, response, and recovery. Required Courses

Tuition is charged per 16-week semester based on your scheduled credit hours. Full-time enrollment (12–17.99 credits) is approximately $12,408 per semester (Keiser Undergraduate Tuition & Fee Disclosure; subject to annual review). Completing the 126-credit program at a full-time pace works out to an estimated total in the range of $99,000–$105,000 in tuition, depending on credit load per semester and transfer credits applied. A one-time $55 application fee and one-time $145 registration fee apply at enrollment. Some technology courses may carry additional resource or lab fees; confirm current amounts with a financial services advisor.

Graduates are prepared for high-demand roles in information security, cyber defense, and risk management across public- and private-sector organizations. Typical positions include:

• Cybersecurity Analyst and Information Security Analyst
• Network Security Engineer and Cloud Security Analyst
• Security Operations Center (SOC) roles
• Risk and Compliance Analyst
• Digital Forensics Analyst
• IT/cyber audit support, with advancement toward leadership roles such as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

The coursework also supports preparation for widely recognized professional certifications, including CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and, with experience, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Certification exams are administered by their respective independent bodies and have their own eligibility and testing requirements separate from the degree.

Expect a hands-on, technically focused program taken one class at a time over four-week terms. Early coursework builds fundamentals in PC systems support, networking essentials, operating systems, database management, and cloud security, alongside general education. Upper-division study moves into cyber laws and frameworks, risk identification, protection, detection, response and recovery, and critical infrastructure risk management.

In your chosen concentration you will go deeper: Information Assurance students work through privacy, governance/risk/compliance, identity and access management, and secure development operations, while Digital Defense students practice digital media and network forensics, computer system forensic analysis, network defense and countermeasures, and ethical hacking. Plan for lab-based practice and progressively more advanced technical work, delivered online, on campus, or in a hybrid format with small classes.
