Advanced Manicuring

Class sessions are 24 hours a week and the fee schedule gives a completion time of about 25 weeks; the progress policy allows 37.5 weeks at that pace before the 900-hour maximum is reached. The academic year is 900 hours over 26 weeks.

Evaluation points. Progress is evaluated at 300 clock hours (about 12.5 full-time weeks) and again at 600 hours (about 25 weeks).

Leaving and returning. A leave of absence must be requested and approved in writing; a student who does not return from one is treated as withdrawn as of the last day of attendance.

What it costs. The catalog's tuition and fee schedule prices Advanced Manicuring at $11,185.00 for the whole programme, itemised as:

These are the catalog's estimated charges for the period of attendance and the entire programme. The school's own website publishes no prices, so the catalog is the only price source; it reserves the right to change tuition, fees and kit contents without notice, and changes do not affect students already attending.

Paying for school. Lancaster Beauty School takes part in the federal Title IV programmes - Pell Grants, the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant and Direct Loans - under school code 013010, and the catalog also points California students to the Cal Grant through the FAFSA or the California Dream Act Application. Scholarships are offered only occasionally, as tuition allowances open to everyone who enrols in a set period. The school is also registered with the State Department of Rehabilitation, and the catalog carries the standard GI Bill notice for veterans' benefits.

Terms of payment. The catalog asks for $5,592.50 at enrolment and four monthly payments of $1,398.13. The catalog's deposit-and-installment figures are a straight split of the programme total, and any tuition change is applied only to students enrolling afterwards. Payment is accepted in cash, by credit card, money order or check, or from Title IV funds. All tuition and fees are due in advance unless other arrangements are made before classes begin. The California Student Tuition Recovery Fund assessment is listed as $0.00 since April 1, 2024.

If you do not finish on time. Students are not permitted to miss hours. Training not completed within the contracted time is charged at the contract's hourly tuition rate, which the catalog gives as $15.00 an hour for every programme.

Cancelling and refunds. You may cancel without penalty through attendance at the first class session or the seventh calendar day after enrolling, whichever is later, by written notice delivered or posted to the school. After that you may withdraw at any time and receive a pro rata refund if you have completed 60% or less of the scheduled days in the payment period. Refunds are less an application fee capped at $75 and less any equipment, books, supplies and learning materials issued, and are paid within 45 days of the notice. Charges already collected for a payment period you never start are refunded in full. If tuition came from a loan or a third party the refund goes back to them, and money from federal aid is returned to the aid programmes first. A student is treated as withdrawn on the last day of recorded attendance, and the school keeps a monthly cancellation and withdrawal log.

Licensing. To sit the California examination a candidate must have completed the course at a licensed school, be at least 17 years old and have completed the 10th grade or its equivalent. Completing the 400 hours qualifies a graduate to sit the California manicurist licensing examination. The additional 200 hours are training beyond the state requirement rather than a separate licence. Graduates receive a diploma once every requirement is met, and a Proof of Training on request; the school may withhold transcripts, grades and Proof of Training while any balance is unpaid, and a duplicate diploma or transcript costs $25.

Finding work. Job placement assistance is free to students and graduates and includes professional appearance guidance, job referrals and follow-up, plus a Salon Opportunity List the school keeps as salons call in with openings. The school does not allow externships and does not guarantee employment, income or a wage rate; its employment disclaimer lists the factors that can limit a graduate's prospects, from criminal convictions to an inability to relocate.

Published outcomes. The 2026 catalog publishes no completion, placement or licensure rates. California requires the school to give every applicant a School Performance Fact Sheet before an enrolment agreement is signed, and the catalog urges prospective students to review it; ask the school for the current sheet for this programme.

The campus. Lancaster Beauty School has taught in the Antelope Valley since 1960 and sits at 44646 North 10th Street West, close to the centre of Lancaster, with a satellite facility and an extra classroom on the same street and an administrative office at number 44636. The school holds about 200 students at a time in 10,675 square feet, with separate areas for freshmen, clinic work, theory, manicuring and esthetics, plus a student lounge, patio and facial room, and more than 36,000 square feet of parking (students park at the side or back; the front spaces belong to the complex's customers). It is wheelchair accessible with accessible restrooms, every area has a refrigerator for students' food, and each student gets a station and chair on the clinic floor. The library of videos, DVDs, styling books and trade magazines is open Tuesday to Friday 10:00 am to 7:00 pm with a check-in and check-out system.

Your kit. Every student is issued a kit with the equipment their programme needs, including books, blow dryer, curling irons, makeup, acrylic nail kit and a mannequin; the full list is available on request. An extra uniform smock costs $45. Any further tools or supplies students choose to buy are optional and the catalog says they should not exceed $650.

Progress. Satisfactory academic progress means a 75% grade average and attendance of at least 67% of scheduled hours, measured cumulatively at set evaluation points. For this programme the points are 300 and 600 actual hours. Falling below either standard puts a student on warning for the following period, and a student who is still short may be placed on probation only after a successful written appeal. Progress reports are produced monthly and students are counselled every two months. The maximum time allowed is 150% of the programme length. For Advanced Manicuring that ceiling is 900 hours.

Conduct and attendance. Grading runs A 94-100, B 87-93, C 80-86, D 75-79 and F below 75. Students are expected to be punctual, to keep to the uniform and grooming rules and to treat clients, instructors and each other with courtesy; foul language is not tolerated anywhere in the school. Failing to attend for 14 days counts as a withdrawal. Personal belongings go in a locker, for which students bring their own lock, and the school takes no responsibility for lost or stolen property.
