Program Overview
Our Computer Science Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree is a two-year degree that is 65 credits. This degree is designed for entrance into the workforce upon graduation.
Computer Science General (AAS Degree) Overview: The Computer Science – General provides each student with a background in the principles of computing and their applications in software and systems. Students are provided real-life experience together with the development of a sound basis in theory. Students work individually and cooperatively on projects designed to foster an understanding of basic theoretical principles. Whether you plan to enter the computing industry or only to use computing as a tool for other purposes, the program prepares each student for great preparation for the future. Internship is required of each student in the degree program. Internship contributes to the overall skill development which builds self-confidence, maturity, and the ability to work independently.
Under the AAS, students can select a Concentration: Cloud Computing and Desktop Support; Cybersecurity and Web Technology; Networking; or Programming and App Development. Keep in mind that Concentrations are not a Major. Concentrations enable a student to fcous on a specific area within a degree. Upon graduating, the degree awarded will be entitled, Computer Science, AAS.
