Welding and Fabrication Technology with Pipe

The Welding and Fabrication Technology with Pipe program prepares students for entry level welder positions. Students begin with fundamental skills in welding and cutting before advancing to more complex techniques using Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG), Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW), and Gas Tungsten Arc (GTAW/TIG). Training includes welding plate and pipe in multiple positions, as well as metal cutting and preparation using oxyfuel cutting (OFC), plasma arc cutting (PAC), and air carbon arc cutting (CAC-A). Upon successful completion, graduate should have the knowledge and skills to qualify as entry-level welders using standard industry processes. In addition to technical training, students develop professional behaviors that align with employer expectations, ensuring they are prepared for success in the workforce. Students will be required to complete out-of-class assignment in each course.

In addition to the technical training, a critical aspect of a Lincoln education is developing the professional skills that are required by our employers. Students will need to demonstrate skill proficiency through a series of professional development activities and seminars which are integrated into each course.

Admission Requirements

In order to be considered for acceptance, an applicant must meet the following requirements:

Be a high school graduate or possess a state-approved high school equivalency assessment including, but not limited to: a GED, HiSET or TASC examination; or possess an associate’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.

Complete the Learner Assessment to determine readiness for academic success.

Provide a fully executed Enrollment Agreement.

Persons desiring to make application for admission should

Be interviewed by an Admissions Representative or other member of the School staff.

Complete an Enrollment Agreement (Student Contract).

Submit documentation to meet the admission requirements.

Complete any required entrance examination or learner assessment. In order for students to become accustomed to their new college environment, an orientation is held to inform them of LCT policies and procedures and to introduce them to key personnel. Students will be prepared for successful entry into the scheduled starting class by finalizing all necessary paperwork, to include the appropriate financial aid applications or documents and or housing needs. Students will be notified of the scheduled date and time of the session. benefits such as the Early Student Engagement Program (ESE). ESE delivers students the opportunity to gain professional life-skills, and additional employability knowledge, beneficial to his or her success. Throughout the first 24 weeks of the students’ program the ESE program offers a “success coach” who coordinates learning activities.
