Program Overview
This degree is designed to provide the student with a comprehensive understand and hands-on application of industry standard automotive repair and service techniques. The program also provides information on the latest automotive repair tools, diagnostic and service equipment, and techniques as well as important safety, personal protection, and hazardous material handling strategies for students to use in protecting themselves and the environment. Graduates of this degree program will be presented with the entry-level knowledge and skills required to correctly test, diagnose, replace, repair and adjust as necessary the components of the mechanical, electronic, hydraulic, and accessories systems on current automobiles. Upon graduation, the student will be qualified for entry- level positions in the automotive service career field as a technician capable of analysis, problem solving, performing most common service operations and under supervision, more specialized or involved tasks with a dealer, independent shop or other service outlet. The general education component will provide the student total course with the communication, business, and critical thinking skills necessary to pursue other employment opportunities within the industry.

In order to be considered for acceptance, an applicant must meet the following requirements:
Be a high school graduate or possess a state-approved high school equivalency assessment including, but not limited to: a GED, HiSET or TASC examination; or possess an associate’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
Complete the Learner Assessment to determine readiness for academic success.

Provide a fully executed Enrollment Agreement.

Persons desiring to make application for admission should
Be interviewed by an Admissions Representative or other member of the School staff.
Complete an Enrollment Agreement (Student Contract).
Submit documentation to meet the admission requirements.
Complete any required entrance examination or learner assessment. First-Time Students Acceptance for admission into Lincoln College of Technology as a first time student will be based upon a review the student’s high school academic record and/or standardized test scores. and Placement Students enrolled in the Associates Degree programs will be required to either; Provide documentation verifying a combined SAT score of 1350 or higher, or ACT score of 17 or higher in both Math and English. OR Take the placement test measuring both Math and English proficiency and attain a passing score. Testers not receiving a passing score will be required to take a development course in English, Math or both. Developmental courses are for students who need further preparation before enrolling in college-level courses. These courses award credit hours that contribute to a student’s academic load, but do not count towards the credits needed towards degree completion. Those students required to take Developmental Courses in either Math or English must successfully complete the Developmental course before taking the subsequent math or English college level course. The Developmental course will be graded as either PD (Pass Developmental) or NPD (Not Passed Developmental) and shall not enter into the GPA calculation and will not be applied toward graduation requirements.
