  • Program Highlights
  • The Construction Supervision Program offers small classes and hands-on experience utilizing tools commonly used in all facets of the construction projects such as estimating, coordination and planning. Students have access to Auto Cad, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Excel to create a supervisory plan for different residential and commercial construction sites and schedules. The final project is a 3-D rendering of a floor plan designed by the student with a walk-through performed by faculty using a simulator.

  • The Construction Supervision Occupational Entry Level 1 Certificate will prepare students to serve as entry level safety and code inspectors in the construction field. The skills acquired provide the students with knowledge in basic job site construction safety in residential, commercial, and industrial construction. Students are introduced to construction drawings with a focus on residential and light commercial construction, as well as different types of construction materials and methods and their applications, and gain knowledge on building codes and standards applicable to building construction and inspection processes.
  • The Construction Supervision Level 1 Certificate will prepare students to serve as assistant to a project manager or a construction supervisor. Graduates will learn the fundamentals of estimating materials, equipment, and labor costs in construction projects. They will also learn the relationship between basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components and construction of residential and light commercial buildings. Students will use Microsoft Project, obtain management skills on the job site, and be introduced to computer-aided drafting.
  • The Construction Supervision Level 2 Certificate expands on topics such as proper field note taking, methods of staking, layout of building site, and horizontal and vertical controls, contracts, planning, cost and production peripheral documents, and cost and work analysis. Students experience hands-on learning through the co-op capstone course.
