• Program Introduction
• The Bachelor of Applied Science in Emergency Management is designed for associate of applied science degree-holding students seeking to advance their professional qualifications.
• Emergency Management provides training on incident management systems, designing and implementing response strategies for natural and man-made disasters, and focusing on the coordination of inter-agency processes. Topics covered include contingency planning, risk assessment, collaborative inter­ agency operations, ethics and legal requirements, emergency response, recovery, and hazard mitigation. The program also includes training on the technologies used for disaster management and recovery.

• Admission to the Bachelor of Applied Science program will be rolling with Fall starts and limited enrollment. As a result, not all students who meet the minimum requirements stated above may be admitted into this program.
• Lone Star College will accept and apply to the degree program Core Curriculum courses, Field of Study courses, and approved WECM Technical Specialty Courses as part of the lower division coursework of the baccalaureate degree.
• Students wishing to apply other previously earned credit to this degree must submit requests for substitutions within the first semester of being enrolled in the Bachelor of Applied Science program.
• Up to 15% of admissions space will be available each semester for consideration of degrees not listed on the approved programs list.

• Tuition shown is the in-district rate of $111.00 per credit hour for 120 credit hours.
• Out-of-district Texas residents pay $249.00 per credit hour ($29,880.00); international and out-of-state students pay $313.00 per credit hour ($37,560.00).
• Lab fees vary by course and liability insurance, uniforms and supplies vary by program, so Lone Star College publishes no all-in total for this award. Tuition above excludes them.
• Financial aid and payment plans are available to most students.

Students are required to meet a minimum pass rate of 75% for all courses. This threshold ensures that students demonstrate a solid understanding of course materials and achieve the established learning objectives. This is in line with the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) National Preparedness Course Catalog minimum pass rate.
