Medical Assistants are often responsible for important administrative duties and clinical tasks that assist and support the doctor and other medical staff.

OFTC’s Medical Assisting program prepares students for one of the fastest-growing careers in healthcare through hands-on training and industry-recognized certification.
Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), OFTC’s program qualifies graduates to sit for the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Exam—opening doors to employment in physician offices, clinics, and other healthcare settings.
While enrolled, students gain essential administrative and clinical skills, including:
Patient communication and scheduling
Insurance and billing procedures
Medical recordkeeping and front-office duties
Taking vital signs and assisting with exams
Administering injections and performing lab tests
Educating patients on treatments and procedures
Graduates of the Phlebotomy Technology Specialist certificate are also prepared for roles in hospitals, public health departments, and outpatient care facilities.
