Career Outcomes
The DMS associate degree program prepares competent entry-level sonographers for the abdominal-extended concentrations for all campuses and the obstetrics and gynecology sonography concentration for the El Paso and Houston campuses. A diagnostic medical sonographer uses specialized equipment to create images of the body that physicians review to make a medical diagnosis; sonographers use this non-invasive procedure to look inside the human body, specifically the abdomen, heart, blood vessels or a baby in utero.
