Admission Requirements & Process
Admission to SAE Institute is open to any individual who is seriously interested in creative media industries and meets all necessary entrance requirements. No previous experience is required.
Prospective students must meet all admissions requirements, including having a fully executed enrollment agreement, before the first day of the module.
Requirements for Admission
- Provide Proof of Graduation in the form of a standard high school diploma, GED completion certificate, state high school equivalency certificate or high school transcript (see Proof of Graduation Policy).
- Minimum high school cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher, as demonstrated by a high school transcript; or a college cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, as demonstrated by a college transcript; or a score of 20 or higher on the Entrance Evaluation.
- Applicants who do not meet the minimum GPA requirement based on high school or college transcripts and who do not achieve a score of 20 or higher on the Entrance Evaluation but have scored a minimum of 14 may be considered for admission through an interview with the SAE Institute Admissions Committee, which may grant acceptance based on the applicant's overall qualifications and potential for success.

- Provide Government-issued photo identification
- Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen; or provide proof of appropriate student visa

- International students must include a statement from a guarantor that he/she is willing to provide applicant with financial support for a minimum of one year along with: a personal bank statement of the guarantor converted to U.S. dollars, the amount of financial support the guarantor is willing to provide for one academic year, the guarantor's name, address, signature, email address, and relationship with the student
Students will not be considered enrolled until they meet all of the following requirements:

SAE Institute requires all applicants to successfully complete the Wonderlic SLE-Q to enroll into a program. All applicants must also provide documentation as Proof of Graduation (POG) prior to acceptance, and applicants from non-English-speaking countries must demonstrate English language proficiency through an approved exam.

All courses require a technology package and a per-semester technology fee, and a non-refundable administrative fee applies to the first module. Tuition is charged by the credit hour and may be financed through federal aid, VA benefits, UNISA institutional loans, or private loans.

Title IV Federal Student Aid
Title IV Federal Student Aid programs are available to students who qualify, including the Federal Pell Grant, Direct Subsidized Loan, Direct Unsubsidized Loan, Direct PLUS Loan (Parent PLUS Loan), Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), and the Federal Work Study (FWS) Program. Alternative (private) loan programs may also be available. Institutional Loans and Aid
Students enrolled at SAE Institute are eligible to participate in an Institutional Loan program offered by UNISA as a third party provider, designed to cover the cost of tuition, technology packages, and fees in excess of available federal aid. Institutional aid also includes the Returning Student Completion Grant, the SAE Institute High School Class of 2026 Scholarship, and the Diploma in Audio Needs Based Scholarship. Full-time employees and their eligible family members may qualify for an Employee Tuition Discount.
