Program Overview

Upon successful completion of the Medical Administrative Assistant Certificate of Achievement, students demonstrate the skills, knowledge, and training necessary for entry-level employment in medical front-office positions, including medical office bookkeeper, medical records file clerk, appointment clerk, insurance coordinator, billing clerk, and medical office receptionist. Individuals are able to demonstrate knowledge of medical technology, bookkeeping, and records management, as well as the ability to work with patients effectively in scheduling appointments and collecting payments. Demonstrate foundational ethical awareness and responsible application and use of data from Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) powered applications. Students will identify, explain, and apply best practices for integrating GenAI data and information into administrative professional documents and workplace tasks. Demonstrate ability to perform office tasks in a medical office, including scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, bookkeeping, and managing patient information. Demonstrate knowledge and use of keyboarding and/or computer applications used in the business segment of a medical office setting.
