Aesthetics is 600 clock hours, completed in as little as five months depending on your schedule and attendance. Full-time and part-time schedules are available.

Start dates: new classes form every two to four weeks. The school describes rolling start dates through the year so students can begin when it suits them.

Where it runs: both campuses — Chandler (2081 North Arizona Avenue, Suite 121) and Phoenix (5127 West Indian School Road, Suite 125).

Leave of absence. Students who take an official leave pick up where they left off, and the interruption has no effect on satisfactory progress standards. Students who withdraw or are terminated must wait at least three months before they may reapply.

Campus closures: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, and from Christmas Eve through New Year’s Day.

Turning Point publishes a single figure for this programme: $10,559.20 for in-state tuition and fees, which the school states includes the cost of books, supplies and the state board exam. It publishes no split between tuition and fees, so none is asserted here — the total is what the school quotes, and inventing a breakdown would be a fabrication.

The school notes that the amount covers the entire programme assuming an average time for completion, and that the information is subject to change. Confirm the current figure with admissions before you sign.

Federal aid. Turning Point is an accredited institution participating in federal financial aid programmes. Start with the FAFSA; your results appear on a Student Aid Report, which the Financial Aid office uses to estimate Pell Grant eligibility (need-based, not repaid) and Federal Direct Loan options. Completing it early opens more options.

Other funding routes. The school accepts VA education benefits including the GI Bill, and can coordinate Vocational Rehabilitation and AZ@Work resources for eligible students. It also accepts cash, credit cards and cheques.

Pay-As-You-Learn. Students can pay for their freshman hours and kit up front, then pay per class as they are able. A driver’s licence is optional at application but helps verify identity where a student has little credit history.

Graduates are prepared to sit the Arizona State Board of Cosmetology examination and work as licensed estheticians — facials, exfoliation, masks, hair removal, basic makeup and client home-care guidance, in spas, skin clinics and salons.

Career support, honestly framed. The school offers resume preparation, mock interviews and help curating a portfolio that reflects the work a student wants to do. It shares local job leads and coaches professional basics such as rebooking language, service pacing and client communication. It states plainly that employment is not guaranteed.

The school reports close connections with local salon owners and keeps students informed about potential job leads. Students build a portfolio during training — the nail technology programme in particular builds in time to photograph finished work.

Turning Point describes itself as a minority and woman-owned institution, and as veteran-friendly. It runs student field trips to local salons so students can see the workplaces they may join.

Demonstration, practice, then real clients. Training starts with instructor demonstrations, moves to practice on mannequins with feedback, and then to live models and real clients in the student clinic under licensed supervision. When a student starts on real clients depends on their progress and readiness — core safety skills and basic techniques come first.

The clinic is a working salon. Members of the public book services at student rates; appointment times are arranged around student training schedules, so services may take longer than a typical salon visit. Every service is provided by a student under the supervision of a licensed professional.

Two campuses, both with clinic floors. Chandler is at 2081 North Arizona Avenue in the Chandler Mercado business centre, off Highway 87 and Warner Road, with free parking and local bus access, and its classrooms connect directly to the clinic floor. Phoenix, at 5127 West Indian School Road, is described by the school as its flagship location, with spacious practice areas and a diverse clientele.

Language. Many courses are available in multiple languages — students can learn in the language they are most comfortable using, subject to availability.

Coming back after a break. An official leave of absence lets a student pick up where they left off with no effect on satisfactory progress standards. A withdrawal or termination is different: a minimum three-month wait before reapplying.
