This certificate prepares students to instruct and coach groups or individuals in the fundamentals of fitness and athletics. Students learn to provide training direction, encouragement, motivation, and nutritional advice to students and athletes, as well as explain and enforce safety rules and regulations. Completion of the coursework within this certificate is one of the mandatory requirements to apply for a coaching authorization or endorsement.
