Program Overview
The High-Performance Racing Technology (HPRT) program adds the excitement of aftermarket engine performance improvement to our standard automotive training program. Specialized training allows students to design, machine, assemble, and calibrate (tune) a high-performance engine utilizing a wide variety of aftermarket engine components and control systems. Students learn to calibrate (tune) engine controls for proper fueling and maximum power output, using various data acquisition tools and dynamometers.
Students in our HPRT day program are part of our Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Education Foundation accredited APT program; ensuring a strong foundation of automotive skills along with the excitement of the high-performance industry. Instructional segments are designed and sequenced to maximize learning potential in each course. Ranken’s HPRT program provides students with five semesters of hands-on training and instruction in diagnosing and repairing automotive problems and malfunctions. In addition to the positions offered to APT graduates, HPRT graduates accept gainful employment in automotive careers with an emphasis in engines and tuning.
